Role of circular RNAs in colorectal tumor microenvironment

چکیده

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of endogenous noncoding RNA, which were previously considered as byproduct RNA splicing error. Numerous studies have demonstrated the altered expression circRNAs in organ tissues during pathological conditions and their involvements disease pathogenesis progression, including cancers. In colorectal cancer (CRC), multiple been identified characterized “oncogenic”, given downregulation tumor suppressor genes induction initiation, invasion, metastasis. Additionally, other CRC “tumor suppressive” based on ability inhibiting oncogenic suppressing growth proliferation. could serve potential diagnostic prognostic biomarkers, therapeutic targets or vectors to be utilized therapies. This review briefly describes dynamic changes microenvironment inducing immunosuppression tumorigenesis, outlines biogenesis characteristics recent findings indicating roles functions microenvironment. It also discusses strategies technologies, employed future overcome current therapy challenges associated with circRNAs.

Role of tumor microenvironment in tumorigenesis

Tumorigenesis is a complex and dynamic process, consisting of three stages: initiation, progression, and metastasis. Tumors are encircled by extracellular matrix (ECM) and stromal cells, and the physiological state of the tumor microenvironment (TME) is closely connected to every step of tumorigenesis. Evidence suggests that the vital components of the TME are fibroblasts and myofibroblasts, ne...

Role of LAP+CD4+ T cells in the tumor microenvironment of colorectal cancer

AIM To investigate the abundance and potential functions of LAP+CD4+ T cells in colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS Proportions of LAP+CD4+ T cells were examined in peripheral blood and tumor/paratumor tissues of CRC patients and healthy controls using flow cytometry. Expression of phenotypic markers such as forkhead box (Fox)p3, cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein (CTLA)-4, chemokine CC r...

Targeting Angiogenesis and Tumor Microenvironment in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer: Role of Aflibercept

In the last decades, we have progressively observed an improvement in therapeutic options for metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) treatment with a progressive prolongation of survival. mCRC prognosis still remains poor with low percentage of 5-year survival. Targeted agents have improved results obtained with standard chemotherapy. Angiogenesis plays a crucial role in colorectal cancer growth, ...

The Role of Long Non-Coding RNAs in Ovarian Cancer

Background: Ovarian cancer is the most fatal tumor of female's reproductive system, and several genetics and environmental factors are involved in its development. Various studies have already identified suitable biomarkers to facilitate the early detection, prognosis evaluation, and the assessment of treatment response. However, the aim of this review was to investigate the role of long non-co...

Tumor microenvironment: the role of the tumor stroma in cancer.

The tumor microenvironment, composed of non-cancer cells and their stroma, has become recognized as a major factor influencing the growth of cancer. The microenvironment has been implicated in the regulation of cell growth, determining metastatic potential and possibly determining location of metastatic disease, and impacting the outcome of therapy. While the stromal cells are not malignant per...
